Hisbalit is participating for the first time in Milano Design Week, part of the Appartamento Spagnolo installation, organised by ICEX España in collaboration with the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Milan. The project, curated by Elle Decor Italia in collaboration with DWA architecture studio, is part of the Fuori Salone de Milán 2024, showcasing excellence in Spanish design with a selection of exhibits from 18 leading Spanish companies in décor and interior design.
Other participants in addition to Hisbalit, include ACdO, Arkosligh, Enea Design, Faro Barcelona, Gandía Blasco, Hobby Flower, Isimar, Manuel Larraga, Naturtex, Novocuadro, Ondarreta, Roca, Sanycess, Tres, Vibia, Vondom and WOW Design.
The installation is at the historic Palazzo Castiglioni (entrance at Corso Venezia, 51), open to visitors from until Friday, April 21th. The project consists of six distinct atmospheres, including different spaces, winter garden and outdoor patio that transport visitors to another dimension, weaving together interiors and exteriors in perfect harmony.
Hypnotic walls with Diagramm mosaic tile
One of the most striking spaces of the APPARTAMENTO SPAGNOLO is the bathroom with hypnotic walls surfaced in Diagramm mosaic tile, from Hisbalit’s new Doppel Design collection. The result is an ordered and elegant pattern with a 3D effect. This hand-crafted design was installed piece by piece by the Hisbalit design team using dark blue (Doppel 573) and white (Doppel 568) mosaic tiles. The same reference in white was used in rectangular format with a matte finish for the bathroom floor. This model reproduces the look of natural stone for a sensation of calm, warmth and repose.
The wall of the bath area is surfaced with Hisbalit’s ondulated Algodón mosaic tile from the Raw Hisbalit collection. A series with an artisanal aesthetic, using 4×4 ondulated tiles inspired in traditional materials, recovering the vernacular, the natural, returning to essentials. The floor, also in white, is surfaced in Hisbalit’s Stone 568 mosaic tile.

Entrance to the exhibition is free but visitors need to register with: Hearst Global Design – Hearst Live. Access to the PALAZZO CASTIGLIONI is at Corso Venezia 51.

During the exhibition two presentations will be held on contemporary Spanish design:
• Wednesday, April 17, from 11.30 to 12.30, “Interiors from Spain: In the matter of Light” with Mayice Studio and designer Héctor Serrano, two leading figures in contemporary Spanish design, moderated by Livia Peraldo, editor of Elle Decor Italia.
• Thursday, April 18, from 11.30 to 12.30, the second presentation will be held “Interiors from Spain: Focus on Materials” with renowned Spanish designers Omayra Maymó and Lucas Muñoz, moderated by Elisa Mencarelli from Elle Decor Italia.
