The design studio Quefalamaria faced a great challenge in renovating this house in Valladolid. Six months of work resulted in a colourful, cheerful house, totally in the vibe!
The space preserves the stately air of the original building: natural wood floor in herringbone pattern, exquisitely tasteful mouldings, with an archway into the master bedroom and panel shuttered windows on the south façade flooding the guest and children’s rooms with natural light.
How to use the colour of the year in the bedroom?
Velvet was one of the materials used to add colour to the home. In the living room, terracotta coloured velvet was used for the sofas while in the bedroom the striking moulded headboard in Classic Blue is the centre of attention.
In the living room, the rest of the décor was created around the main pieces: Dekton XXL to modernise the fireplace, a mirror behind the shelves adds light to the space with designer tables that are works of art in themselves.
The studio features an ebony piece that was found in the home, repainted in a soft mint with detailing in gold and black handles. A very retro vitrine accompanies the dining room table.
In the master bedroom, Quefalamaria decided on fresh summery colours such as mustard yellow for the bedding. In this special space, the designers created a dressing area with a small desk and credenza with ample space for accessories and serving as a vanity.
The children’s bedroom is a “rose-coloured fantasy” where dreams can take flight. The tone is softened by the grey coloured walls and white furnishings. For the guest bedroom, more neutral tones were chosen, with a large ceiling light, green side tables and a great full-length mirror beside an armchair.
A vintage mosaic tile floor!
The bathroom definitely provides the “WOW “ effect to the house. It is perfectly in tune with the stately, classic style that flows throughout the home with a vintage touch and a distinctly modern air for a very special feel.
The most striking aspect of the bathroom is the personalised floor in eco-friendly mosaic tile from Hisbalit. The studio chose Hisbalit’s DOT model from the Art Factory collection with hexagonal black and white tesserae, references 101 (black) and 103 (white) from the UNICOLOR collection. A classic design never goes out of style!
