Hisbalit was founded in Cantabria in 1964 and is considered the oldest glass mosaic tile factory in Europe.At the beginning, there were only 5 employees, who worked in a line manually loading trucks with “gresite” used exclusively to surface swimming pools.
Today, Hisbalit has a team of almost 100 workers, and Hisbalit mosaic is used for all types of surfaces in the interior design, décor and swimming pool sectors.
Throughout these 60 years, our main objective has been to develop innovative, inspiring and highly durable solutions for all types of spaces; and to become a leader in mosaic tile design and customisation. Since the very beginning, creativity, innovation, quality,craftsmanship and sustainability have been the hallmarks of Hisbalit.

Hisbalit was a pioneer in developing the revolutionary HTK bonding system.
Launch of the first photoluminescent mosaic tile on the market,developed in collaboration with the University of Cantabria.
Introduction of robotics in the production system.
2006 was a year to remember. This was the year we decided to reach out beyond our borders with the creation of
our expert department.After 40 years of offering an excellent product, we were leaders in the Spanish market. We
identified a real demand and began our expansion into international markets. In just five years, exports accounted for
40% of our turnover. Today, Hisbalit is a key player in over 70 countries around the world.
2012 Creation of the Art Factory personalisation department.
Partnerships with leading architecture and interior design studios throughout the world. Many projects incorporating
Hisbalit mosaic tiles have received prestigious awards and international recognition.
