PROJECT: MAR VIDAL INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE PLATINO AWARD 2024 FROM ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN COMMUNITY
Welcome to the hottest nightspot in Madrid. This versatile events space is an invitation to luxuriate in an atmosphere bursting with style thanks to the work of Mar Vidal Interior Architecture.The studio faced a significant challenge: to transform a discotheque into a night-time social club for private dinners and shows and also expanding the capacity from 300 to 500 people.This was a comprehensive renovation, involving the creation of a new entrance and principal space to receive exclusive clients. In the hallway, where every detail counts, a customised designer floor was created by Mar Vidal using Hisbalit’s Art Factory personalisation service. The design incorporates the name of the locale “Le Club Somosaguas” in gold letters (Urban Chic 512) on a blue background (Unicolor 319).
The increased capacity required the installation of a new air conditioning system and the installation of sliding doors, leaving a lower area with a narrow staircase. To resolve this issue, the designers transformed this space into a kind of luxurious and extravagant art gallery in blue and red with teardrop lamps. For the principal space, two new bars were created with a personalised design in Hisbalit mosaic tile with the same references used on the floor of the entrance hall. A special stage was also created in the VIP area with a series of overlooking stalls to view the action.
The wild creativity of the space evokes the passionate spirit of the 1920’s speakeasies, combined with all the verve of the 1980’s and its vibrant music scene. The result is a visual and sensorial experience that is unique in Madrid.
GOLDEN CAVE
For the separate VIP Area, the designers chose a completely different aesthetic from the rest of the locale. Here, Mar Vidal Interior Architecture created a golden cave surfaced in Hisbalit’s Aurum mosaic tile. This exquisite surface provides texture and elegance, creating a unique and sophisticated atmosphere. The same tile was used throughout the entire VIP space, including the walls, ceiling, floors, bar area and the annex bathroom.
